Coiling fan failed while under warranty and is still not repaired after one and a half months. All communication with LG went unanswered after the problem was handed over to a third party for repair. Previous LG microwave same model had a display failure that rendered it unusable. A LG refrigerator failed after 7 years and LG sent a third party to tell me it wasnt worth fixing. I will not purchase another LG product.

Problems from the Start

Ive had this microwave a year now. Right from the start I had an issue where I would put the cook time in and push start and nothing would happen except the timer would count down. See attached video I hope it attaches It took numerous re-trys to actually get the microwave to run. Right away I called the vendor I purchased from and I was told to call LG and set up a service call. I took a video of the problem too. I did the service call I think it goes to India because the technician had a thick accent which was hard to understand. She basically told me to unplug plug and reset. This did not good so an appointment was set up but I was warned that if the microwave didnt indicate a fault when the service person was there I would still have to pay for the service call. The Technician came to my home and of course the microwave didnt act up while he was there. Basically he told me I was pushing the buttons too hard and not in the center of the button. Thankfully he didnt charge me. It is now a year since I purchased this microwave and I continue to have the same problem but I have discovered the problem. When shutting the microwave door it is necessary to lift up the door as you shut it. Obviously there is a contact not being made correctly in the latch mechanism. As long as I do this the microwave starts every time. You know I shouldnt have to do this This is a poorly made product and I have a feeling LG knows this. Im so unhappy The warranty period is over but it doesnt matter. I plan to rip this thing out and deliver back to the vendor who doesnt back up their products. Sorry LG this experience has soured me on buying any more products from your line. Its your loss Im a retiree with a lot of money to spend and Im updating my whole house

I bought this as a replace to the initial one I bought 5 years ago when I did my kitchen renovation. I wasnt happy to have to replace a microwave after only 5 years but it couldnt be fixed. I wanted it to match my other appliances so I got another one. This new one is ok. My only complaint is the effort it takes for the buttons to register a selection. IMO its too hard.

I bought this microwave 1 month ago. It fits perfectly in a 30 wide area above the range. I love the reheat feature as it automatically calculates the exact cooking time and stops itself when food is actually ready to eat and not super hot besides it heats evenly which is great as my old microwave left super cold and super hot areas along the plate. It looks great in my kitchen its easy to clean inside I have to say it is a little bit hard to clean in the outside though as it has very black glass color which I love but it makes any dirt or debris very visible.

I wish I read the reviews prior to purchasing this microwave. It stopped heating up after two years of use. I purchased mine in 07/2022. And its not even used frequently. I use it every once in a while. LG wants me to pay a dispatch fee for someone to come to take a look at it and then charge me repair cost. The 10 year warranty is a hassle. All lies. Poor product and poorer customer service. Guess what not happening. Im browsing for a new microwave NOT LG. And never again.

Cheap parts

18 months old and I am getting ready to replace the vent grill cover for the second time. The first time was warrantied it arrived that way and now it is coming out of my pocket. The vent grill cover is a cheap flimsy design. LG is not the company they used to be.

Easy to Install and Use

Bought this to replace old microwave that died. The installation instructions were pretty easy to follow and installation itself was straightforward. Controls are intuitive. Heats well. Only complaint is door came with a small dent. Hard to notice but wish that hadnt happened.

We purchased this microwave oven for our new home. I like the sleek design of the handle. It works great. My only con is that it is a bit difficult to see into it to check on food inside. Partly due to the screening inside but partly due to the fact that it seems shorter in height vs other over the range microwave ovens I have used therefore it sits too high to look into it. I am 55 tall. The inside is very easy to clean. The function buttons are easy to read and to cean. All in all its a good choice.

Bought my house 2019 and came with 4 LG appliances. Before 3yrs of it 3 of them is started to have issues first the fridge not making ice and has leakage second is the range the button turns on without touching it and can cause fire 3 is the microwave oven its not heating up. The light underneath is too dim. I get inconsistent warming of the food. The interior is too dim and the window on the door is so dark and small that you cant see whats inside. I was expecting a lot more from LG.

Broke twice in less than three years

The magnetron has broken twice now in less than three years. The first time it was covered fully by the warranty. Now Im told that although the magnetron warranty is for ten years that only covers the cost of the part and that I would be responsible for the labor. I am not willing to put any more money into this microwave which I am very disappointed with.

Purchased in Oct of 2021 manufactured in April 2021. Fault codes started to occur when less than a year old. Reported to LG. Diagnosed as a bad circuit board. But the circuit board was discontinued when the product was 10 months into warranty and 16 months after manufacture. LG offers a refund for the cost of the Microwave but even though the warranty covers Parts and Labor refuses to cover the labor for installation of a replacement microwave. Wrote to the President of LG. Will be my last LG product if they dont cover the cost of a replacement install.

The incentive to write this review was to be entered in an LG contest. I bought this microwave in May 2022 as a replacement for an eight year old LG microwave that broke the Extendavent broke and it would stop heating food. We have all LG appliances so I just decided to roll the dice and get another LG microwave. The older LG microwave had an Extendavent. I would advise not to buy the Extendavent model because it will eventually break. So far so good with this model. However the current item description states that the exterior lighting is a 50W LED and the interior lighting is 30W incandescent. That information is incorrect unless the model has been recently updated. The same model we bought came with a halogen bulb for the exterior lighting which was disappointing. The interior bulb was a 30W appliance bulb. The QuietPower Ventilation System is not quiet but it is strong. Honestly I would not expect a strong ventilation system to be quiet. The touchpad is easy to use and it cooks and heats as expected.

This is a replacement for my professional microwave. The delivery was scheduled and the installation went smoothly. The features and selections are easy to read and use. If I had one drawback it is the small window to view inside the micro but this is more about what I was used to so the issue is nothing compared to how the micro works. It is quiet and the capacity is perfect. I especially like the smaller height size as it doesnt interfere with the burner cooking surface.
