I bought this unit because I couldnt afford to get my central unit coil replaced it was just too expensive. I put the unit in my living room area 800 sq ft. and you can feel that air blowing 7 feet away on the Couch. it is remarkably cool in this area that includes my kitchen and dining room. I cant say enough about this unit its wonderful. Will buy another one for my bedroom as soon as I can .

LG once again proved to be the choice for me. After carefully researching and comparing brands and models and their respective capabilities I settled on this LG 12K-BTU window unit in hopes that it would adequately cool a 900 sq. ft. space. Mid-July with mid-90s temps certainly provided the test. Although this unit is rated to cool less square footage I am pleasantly surprised that it has quietly provided very comfortable air-conditioning for my living space while set to 70-72 degrees medium fan for the remainder of the summer

This is the 3rd LG window unit Ive purchased over several years two 10000 BTU and this 12000 BTU for our home cabin and the 12k for my brother replacing a 8k that was too small for the area being cooled. All are working perfectly are quiet and easily installed. Love the pull out feature for installation cleaning and service if ever needed. Have other LG appliances and electronics and all meeting or exceeding our expectations.

Great Window Dehumidifier

I bought this for my pole building which is insulated. It was so humid in there this summer and I worried about mold. I use the unit as a window dehumidifier so heat isnt introduced where I work out and do projects. It works great and it is nice and cool besides drier.

We just got rid of our old ac we had for 15 years. It was sufficient in cooling our 1000sq ft house if we use a couple of fans to redirect the flow. This new LG ac has the same btu rating as the old but is much quieter I love the new features like just setting the air temp by degree and having a dehumidifier option. I turned on the AC and it kept alternating between cold air and regular air so the room never actually cools down. I called a LG technician who said this type of model was built with an internal thermostat that keeps resetting every few minutes. Had I known about this I would not have bought this appliance.

Just what we wanted

We bought this 12000 BTU unit as an upgrade to an older 10000 BTU unit from another brand. We have an open floor plan for much of the house but dont want to go the expensive route of getting central air installed since were in Upstate NY where we only need AC 2 to 3 months each year. The old unit was almost enough to cool the the large rooms that are open but wouldnt do the job in energy saver mode. We bought this during the Memorial Day Sale at Lowes. Within a week we had a couple days in the 90s so I waisted no time putting it together and installing it. When I turned it on the first thing I noticed was that it is quiet. Probably half the noise volume of the old one. Weve run it a lot since then set to 73 and on energy saver mode. It keeps our large 3 room open area dining room kitchen and living room at 73 degrees without running constantly and without making noticeable noise. Im very pleased with it purchase and have heard good things about LG appliances for years.... This unit lives up to that great LG reputation. I would recommend this to anyone looking to cool a large area

Ok but not what I expected

We bought this about a month ago and installed it. The installation for my windows was not what I was thinking but it worked and everything looked good. We got this as an additional cooling unit to my central unit. My wife has a medical condition and heat is a trigger so it is imperative to have at least one room frigid. I wanted the room temp to be at least 60 degrees. The unit cycles the compressor on and off but the room temp is NOT 60.

So good so far

The LG has been working well so far but it is still fairly new. My one complaint would be the high fan does not blow high enough it feels like medium so fan does not have great blowing power. Otherwise it puts out cold air when needed. The real test will be when the temperatures soar and humidity gets terrible. That is the real challenge here in the desert southwest. I just hope this LG lasts longer than the one I had 5 years ago which only lasted one year before it started to not cool anymore.

Wonderful Air Conditioner

This AC works perfect. We have a 20 x 16 foot room we added on and this thing cools it easily. It also has a dry feature which is handy. It is quieter than most units. I would purchase again for sure.

Best Window Unit I Have Ever Bought

I had an 8k BTU unit that finally died. Ive always kept it set to 73 degrees. It would cool the room down but even on Energy Efficient it constantly ran. But this LG 12k BTU well what can I say. I wish I had bought this a lond lind time ago Keep it at the same temperature and it cool off quicker does not run as ofter and has even lowered my electric bill by $15 a month There have even been some times Ive actually had to turn it off in the evening because it felt too cold and Im in Central Florida on the coast HIGHLY recommend this product
